WHY SPORTS MASSAGE?

WHAT IS SPORTS MASSAGE?

Sports massage is a form of massage involving the manipulation of soft tissue which includes skin, muscles, tendons ligaments and fascia (a form of connective tissue that lines the soft tissue).

Sports massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are usually caused by repetitive activity or strenuous exercise and trauma.

It can be described similarly to deep tissue massage in that the manipulation is deeper into the muscle and surrounding tissue.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM SPORTS MASSAGE?

The simple answer...everyone!
The perception is that sports massage is only for those who participate in sports or indeed engage in physical activity, however, the benefits of sports massage can apply to anyone and everyone. Whether you're an office worker tied to your desk all day or a parent with little ones tied to your neck, the nature of how we live means we can all suffer from musculoskeletal aches and pains at some point in our lives and sports massage can make all the difference.
